That is a really tricky question and may be your selection in any organiziation/ company depends on it.

So you can ask indirectly from the interviewer about his expectations or you can give him a range like you are willing to work provided the salary is 30k to 40k. Whenever you go for interview always study the profile and the avergae amount paid for it so that it become easier for you to answer such questions.

My salary expectations are in line with my experience and qualifications.
